Saving My Skin At the Top of the World

I recently fulfilled a life-long dream. In March, I climbed Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro. It’s the highest walkable point on Earth. And, it’s only two degrees from the equator. So it’s about as close as you can get to the sun.

On the summit at almost 20,000 feet, I looked east and west. I felt like I could see all the way around the world. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life.

Drop Weight by Eating This at Breakfast

You can drop weight and reduce fat without ever counting a calorie or stepping on a treadmill.

It all depends on what you eat first thing in the morning. You can program your metabolism for the rest of the day.1

When you eat a high-fat breakfast, it turns on your fat-burning metabolism. You’ll drop fat off your body and use up the calories you eat for the rest of the day.

    Wherever she goes, people talk…

Teresa looks spectacular in a bikini.

Men half her age walk up to her and start conversations, or tell her how great she looks. Wherever she goes, people talk.

But it wasn’t always like that. Teresa used to weigh 204 pounds and wear a size 14 dress…

    If You’re Laughing, You’re Living…Longer

Do you want to hear the funniest joke in the world?

If you do searches for the “funniest joke in the world,” this is the most common winner for U.S. audiences…

A couple of hunters are out in the woods when one of them grabs his chest, falls to the ground, and then lies there motionless.

The other hunter calls 911. “My friend won’t get up, and I think he’s dead! What should I do?”…

You’re Better Off Eating a Cardboard Box

The other day G.S. came to my office for a visit.

I won’t get into his personal medical issue, but the subject of fiber came up.

He said, “Dr. Sears, I’m getting all the fiber I need. Every morning I have my whole wheat toast or a big bowl of Frosted Mini-Wheats.”

I’m telling you this because it’s kind of typical. My patients believe they’re getting the right kind of fiber from whole grains.

The truth is all fiber is not created equal. You could call a cardboard box “fiber,” because it’s cellulose and your body wouldn’t digest it.

But it’s not the type of fiber nature intended for you to have in your body…

    Your “Countdown Clock” is Ticking

    Your “Countdown Clock” is Ticking

    Your “countdown clock” is ticking…

When it ticks down to zero, your life comes to an end.

The good news is that it’s possible to add more time to your countdown clock and extend your life by years or even decades.

These “clocks” are strands of genetic material that sit on the end of each chromosome. Called telomeres, these strands get shorter as you age.

Here’s what you need to know:

Native Herb Holds Magical Healing Properties

My guide hacked a narrow path for me through the underbrush. It was the second day of our journey, deep into the jungles of the Amazon.

I was on my way to speak to a curandero, a native healer, about a plant the locals believe has magical healing properties. They use this herb in many rituals.

When we finally arrived at the small village, the curandero prepared a bath infused with the herb. It smelled a little like garlic, and he said it would protect me from witchcraft…

Get More of This Life-Extending Nutrient

Get this: There’s a nutrient with a delivery system so revolutionary, the government issued a patent for it (US Patent 6 04 5809).

Researchers have been working for over 40 years to find a way to get more of this antioxidant into your body. But until now, they couldn’t find one.

    Why all the fuss?

This antioxidant has a link to how long you’ll live…

Heal Your Wounds the Sweet Way

Everybody loves sugar. And here’s another reason to keep it in your cupboard.

Sugar can heal your cuts, scrapes, burns, and even large wounds without leaving a scar. It kills germs and repairs tissue better than any antiseptic or disinfectant on the market.1

Sugar may just be the first antiseptic in history. People have written about its miraculous properties for over 4,000 years, since early Egyptian times. But it fell out of favor once antibiotics became available…

    Turn Off Your Obesity Gene

Have you resigned yourself to gaining weight because it “runs in the family”?

Bad genetics doesn’t have to catch up with you. You can change your genes simply by making a few adjustments to your diet.1

When you eat certain foods, nutrients release hormones that switch your genes on and off. And the nutrients in low-glycemic foods turn off genes that lead to weight gain and diseases that may follow.

We found this out when we studied the response to the glycemic index (GI) in people who have metabolic syndrome…

    What’s Wrong With Your CoQ10?

There may be a big problem with your CoQ10.

When you take your CoQ10, you should feel more energy, greater endurance, and quicker, clearer thinking. These benefits are well established.1,2,3

Yet, patients tell me they don’t feel any different with CoQ10. And when they show me their bottle, I immediately know why.

Most of the CoQ10 they’re taking never makes it to their cells, where it can do the most good.

In fact, most people over 50 have a hard time converting CoQ10 into its usable form. The lion’s share of valuable CoQ10 disappears – making it impossible to give your cells the protection and nourishment they need.

Today, I have a way for you to solve this problem.

    I’m Happy I Overslept

It was 8 o’clock straight up. My son was waking me. I was scheduled to play tennis at 6:30 a.m. Oops! I had overslept and missed tennis for the first time ever.

Once I got over the initial surprise, I was elated. I had slept like a baby. But I didn’t wake up woozy or in a daze. My mind was clear.

Why was I happy about this?

The night before, I had tried something different. A new liquid formula I’ve been developing. It contains a powerful ingredient from the bark of the Jamaica dogwood tree. I first learned of this extract while visiting my friend and Jamaican herbalist Ivy Harris late last year…

    Oil Spills, Brain Tumors…What’s Next?

Most Sundays, I look forward to my leisurely read of local news over breakfast. But last week, two stories on the front page of The Palm Beach Post made me lose my appetite.

One was the Gulf oil spill. The other was the cancer cluster found in my neck of the woods, in which 13 kids developed brain tumors.

Why am I talking to you about the front page of my local paper? Because these seemingly different situations mean the same thing to me.

Our world is disintegrating into a less than healthful environment. Changes are taking place that will affect your health for the rest of your life…

Jungle Herb I Found in Jamaica

I have the greatest job in the world. I get to travel around to different countries to find native systems of healing and traditional healing herbs.

I’ve gone to Africa, Ecuador, Brazil – and I’ve been to Jamaica a half dozen times. It’s one of my favorite places, because it’s a treasure trove of herbs. Nearly every Jamaican family has a tradition of using them for healing since they were kids.

We’re publishing a book from a well-known herbalist there, Ivelyn Harris. I’ve visited Ivy at her mountain retreat. And she came to visit me here at my office last month. In her book, Ivy describes 42 herbs used in Jamaica…

    “Dr. Sears Saved My Marriage”

I’d like to share a letter I received from one of my patients:
